My artwork is primarily the result of my need to create and communicate; it is both a challenge and an outlet; a discipline and a passion it also takes a critical view of social, political and cultural issues. In my work, I deconstruct the American dream, fairy tales, entertainment industry, and a lot more lullabies that are part of our childhood and adult indoctrination. Having engaged subjects as diverse as the civil rights movement, black lives matter and presidential election and modernist capitalism, my work reproduces familiar topics, arranging them into new conceptual pieces.
Some reviews have labeled my work as ''black humor" but I always try to depict a positive message too.
Though I work quite deliberately, consciously employing both traditional and innovative techniques, my unconscious is the undisputed project manager.
At school, the only class I really paid any attention in was art. I simply wasn't interested in anything else.
Some of my subject matter is about people's daily routines and a comment on our modern day society.
None of it was intentional - it all developed and evolved over time. I just want my Artwork to open peoples minds and let them think out side the box for a minute.
Luzid Legrand also known as Stormy Legrand Brinson started drawing at an early age.Inspired through good artist friends and a ton of other things that life throws at you.
Luzid found the necessary means to escape from this otherwise difficult world. In the streets of the world as an artist in Contemporary Fine Art and Classic Urban Street Art Luzid developed his art skills to perfection.
His artwork is highly eyes opening; his paintings convey an almost dreamlike quality to the bemused viewer.
Currently living and painting in Las Vegas, NV as a Mural Artist.
He has developed a style that is unique and surreal, finding inspiration from the cultures that have surrounded him.
Compelled to create imagery where he uses a combination of highly stylized composition, light and contrasting colors, his goal is to apply all skillfully, thereby drawing the viewer into his painting without overpowering. Luzid is a visual raconteur - a storyteller with a paintbrush, his mind’s eye planted deep within the subconscious.
It is the undecided tone between sincerity and irony that makes Luzid's artwork distinctly contemporary, his visual vocabulary distinctly his own, but with a worldwide audience.
